Trash & Recycling

TRASH:
League City's trash service provider is AmeriWaste and they can be reached at (281) 585-3200.

The zone boundaries were set based on major roadways to make it easier for residents to determine which zone they live in. With the creation of the three zones, many customers will have different days for trash pickup.

Trash Pickup Days:

Yellow Zone—Mondays and Thursdays

Green Zone—Tuesdays and Fridays  [WESTOVER PARK]

Blue Zone—Wednesdays and Saturdays

Trash pickup will be between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on pickup days and customers are asked to have their trash cans to the curb by 7 a.m. on their designated days.

HEAVY TRASH
Your heavy trash day is currently the second collection day of the week, heavy trash includes all green waste (grass clippings, bundled and tied tree limbs). View more information on what and how to place your heavy trash at curbside.

RECYCLING
Resident’s previous recycling bins are being replaced by 48-gallon closed top, wheeled carts which will allow for more recycled items to be disposed of and prevent weather conditions from blowing items into roadways and yards. Recyclable items should be placed directly in the cart. There is no need to place items in a bag.

If you have not received a new recycling cart and would like one, please email AmeriWaste at [email protected] or call 281-585-3200. Due to a high volume of calls, you may have to leave a message. AmeriWaste will add you to their list and deliver your cart as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience. Until residents receive their cart, they may place recycling in clear or clear blue, plastic recycling bags that can be purchased at a local hardware or discount store.

All recycling is picked up on Fridays and must be placed curbside by 7 a.m.  For a list of acceptable recycling items, please see the League City Public Works page.

SCREENING OF RECEPTACLES is required on non-trash and recycling service days.  Please store your trash and recycling receptacles behind your fence or in your garage.  Storing them on the driveway or on the side of the house where they can be seen from the street is not permitted.
